Creative Services, Inc. (CSI) is pleased to announce that we have successfully self-certified with the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC) to the Principles of the E.U. - U.S. Privacy Shield.
Beginning in 2007, CSI has certified to the USDOC that it complies with international agreements and framework with regards to the cross-border transfer of data between the United States and European Union member states. Initially, this was specified by the U.S. E.U. Safe Harbor Framework then amended to include the U.S. - Swiss Safe Harbor Framework, and most recently, by the revamped E.U. - U.S. Privacy Shield which went into effect in August 2016. The Privacy Shield Framework facilitates more trade and collaboration between parties, with access to the latest technologies, while providing strong privacy protections for consumers.
An organization operating under the auspices of the Federal Trade Commission or Department of Transportation may seek assurance of the benefits of the Privacy Shield by self-certifying annually that it adheres to the Principles of the Privacy Shield which include Notice, Choice, Accountability for Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation, Access and Recourse. CSI was among the first wave of companies to go through the self-certification process. The Privacy Shield application for self-certification for CSI has been approved and is effective as of 11/22/2016.
An organization seeking assurance of the benefits of the Privacy Shield must self-certify annually to the USDOC's International Trade Administration (ITA) that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles in order to be placed on and remain on the Privacy Shield List.
