Nuclear Screening

CSI specializes in providing Unescorted Access Authorization/Unescorted Access (UAA/UA) background investigation services for nuclear licensees and contract labor companies who are seeking a primary or supplemental background investigation vendor during outage and non-outage periods.  Since 1985, CSI has had a longstanding commitment to providing superior background investigation services to the nuclear industry in compliance with client requirements, NEI 03-01, "Nuclear Power Plant Access Authorization Program", 10 CFR 73.56, "Personnel Access Authorization Requirements for Nuclear Power Plants", and 10 CFR 26, "Fitness for Duty Programs".

CSI maintains active participation in the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and stays informed of changing regulatory requirements and industry guidance.  Through our commitment to compliance and proven nuclear industry performance, we continue to be dedicated to protecting the health and safety of nuclear workers and the public.

In 2004, CSI opened a dedicated Nuclear Operations Center in Chapin, South Carolina to more efficiently process background investigations for this highly regulated industry. Our nuclear screening professionals are experts in investigations and interviewing.  Using enhanced information systems, CSI provides accurate background screening reports in the rapid turnaround time required by nuclear licensees and contractors.  

 

Our Services

Primary Background Screening Services

CSI offers four primary types of UAA Background Investigations for nuclear licensees and contractors. All background investigations for Unescorted Access Authorization/Unescorted Access (UAA/UA) are completed in compliance with client requirements, NEI 03-01, "Nuclear Power Plant Access Authorization Program", 10 CFR 73.56, "Personnel Access Authorization Requirements for Nuclear Power Plants", and 2) 10 CFR 26, "Fitness for Duty Programs".

  • Initial Background Investigation - For individuals who have never held UAA or have not held UAA within the last three years, but whose last period of UAA/UA was terminated favorably.
  • Updated Background Investigation - For individuals who last held UAA/UA that was terminated under favorable conditions more than 365 days, but less than three years, from the date of application for UAA/UA.
  • Reinstatement Background Investigation - For individuals who last held UAA which was terminated under favorable conditions within the past 31 to 365 days.
  • Background Investigations for Potential Disqualifying Information (PDI) - Initial (5-Year) and Reinstatement.
