 Alan T. Sklar began his career as a private investigator in 1973, after attending Curry College and Northeastern University, conducting insurance, legal, and corporate investigations for Creative Security, Inc. of Boston. Within two years, he was promoted to supervise and grow the Corporate Investigative Division and manage its total operations, quickly achieving tremendous growth and profitability. In 1976, Alan became a partner of Creative Security of Rhode Island, Inc., a subsidiary headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, and expanded the company's services to include security consulting and loss prevention programs. In 1978, he assumed total control of the company and thus formed Creative Services, Inc. (CSI).
Since that time, Alan has continually positioned CSI to assist its clients in addressing their changing safety and security needs through continuing education and access to state-of-the-art technology, equipment and informational sources. In 1988, Alan again expanded the company's services, this time to include background screening, securing its position as a preferred screening vendor for nuclear, governmental and corporate facilities. He also identified the need to provide CSI's clients with support programs and thus enhanced the company's offerings of training and educational seminars on a variety of human resource issues.
Alan has been an invited guest speaker at many nationally recognized seminars and has appeared on several radio and TV talk shows. He has been featured in, contributed to, and authored numerous articles that have been published in local and national newspapers, insurance and legal periodicals, and various industry magazines on topics including interviewing and screening techniques, insurance fraud, workplace violence, loss prevention, and security/safety education and awareness.
